Vietnam’s‘Dragonfly’ Chuồn Chuồn

‘Chuồn Chuồn’ means ‘dragonfly’ in Vietnamese. Vietnam has a tropical climate, so it rains a lot and rivers have developed. As a result, you can see many dragonflies laying eggs along the water. ‘Chuồn Chuồn’ is a traditional game that reflects these characteristics. When you place a dragonfly made of bamboo on your fingertip or in the corner, it moves up and down lightly as if a real dragonfly is sitting, and you balance the bamboo dragon in ‘Chuồn Chuồn.’ You can use not only your fingers, but also various body parts such as the forehead, chin, and the back of your hand. The person who keeps the dragonfly stable on their finger without dropping it for a longer time wins. It is a simple, easy game to enjoy due to its uncomplicated rule that you win if you keep it balanced for a long time.
