Mongolia’s Traditional Tent House Gers

'Ger' refers to a traditional Mongolian tent house. Since most Mongolians lived as nomads in the past, they had to travel frequently. The advantages of using 'Ger' are that it is easy to move, separate, and assemble because it is made of a wood structure which is covered with leather. ‘Ger’ has a wide, round structure that can withstand the cold and strong winds of the Mongolian grasslands, but you need to be careful when you sit down inside a ‘Ger’ because it has a one-room structure. Facing from the outside, the center of the tent is the top seat that only the head of house or a lama Buddhist monk can sit in, while the right side with the kitchen is the seat for the lady of the house. Guests sit on the left while children at the door.
